ApartmentFinder.com – Internet apartment listing service

What a difference a couple of years can make! Apartment Finder, formerly known as Apartment Blue Book, has exploded across the country opening in larger markets and expanding in others. Perhaps best known for the prettiest photographs in the industry, their useful website is worth looking into. Apartment Finder is especially strong in secondary metro areas nationwide, with populations of 75,000 to 500,000. The site gets great buzz, too, because of its partnership with CitySearch and Match.com. Worth your time!

ApartmentGuide.com – Internet apartment listing service

The Apartment Guide is getting great buzz from their newly revamped website, ApartmentGuide.com. They have all sorts of new functionalities and updated listings. They still dominate the print market in major metro areas across the U.S., but this is a great resource to consider if you are in a market not served by a print Apartment Guide. They have also been great supporters of the industry since the 1970s.

Apartments.com – internet apartment listing service

This is the most graphically interesting and user-friendly of all of the major national apartment search sits. Apartments.com also has a unique position in that it is owned by a group of newspaper publishers – which means that the website is advertised and referenced in more than 160 major newspapers every day, drawing unique rental traffic. They have great photography, good customer service and a pretty simple name to remember. They also have a cheaper Bronze package available for owners of smaller properties or single-family homes from $65 for 2 weeks – it's a lot of exposure for not much money.

This site is so easy to use and find information, everyone should be using it! The companion site to the printed For Rent magazine available in most major cities, ForRent.com has all sorts of great features and a simple format. My New Place is a new site launched in mid-2006. Users aren't distracted by banner ads like some others and spend more time viewing apartment listings. There are no cancellation fees, annual contracts, or flat advertising fees. Why spend money without a guaranteed return? Contact them online or at 800.689.5388.

Rent.com – Internet apartment listing service

Rent.com is the top site nationwide for one major reason – they reimburse consumers for reporting their lease. This site was also the first to be pay-for-performance rather than a monthly charge. This means there is no risk to you – no lease, no bill. Give it a shot! Rent.com is also owned by E-bay, which means they are experts at getting noticed. Every community in a major metro should be advertising with Rent.com.

HomeRentals.net – Internet rental home listing service

I work with a lot of small property owners and landlords who think only to place classified newspaper lineage. Those days are over – homerentals.net was the first of the single-family home rental services, advertising homes and small rental buildings. They are especially strong in New England the east coast, Florida, and California. The site also has a great "wizard" to help you determine what advertisement would work best for you, or none at all! How's that for helpful?
